The Nifty closed at 6,064.40, up 28.10 points or 0.47 per cent. It touched a high of 6,079.95 and a low of 6,030.90 in trade today.
The S&P BSE Midcap Index was up 0.62 per cent and the S&P BSE Smallcap Index gained 0.36 per cent.
S&P BSE Metal Index rallied 2.79 per cent, the S&P BSE Realty Index was 1 per cent higher and the S&P BSE Healthcare Index gained 1.68 per cent.
